Formed by the couple Sérgio and Lúcia, the Duo Barrenechea maintains a united chamber music work that respects the solo trajectory of each one. No wonder they are one of the oldest active duos in Rio de Janeiro.
In all these years, the flutist and the pianist have dedicated themselves to a wide and varied repertoire that contemplates the most classic composers, giving more and more space to Brazilian music. With a perfect connection between life and art, the guests of TV Brasil's "Partituras" play works by Francisco Mignone, Radamés Gnattali and Ernesto Nazareth, just to name a few.
Mignone - Passarinho está cantando
The piece 'The little bir is singing', for violin and piano, was composed in 1952. In this work, Mignone combines elements of Brazilian music in a brief description of the title. It is considered that the composer conceived the part of violin with a flutistic language. Maybe that is why the adaptation has been so successful.
